Water clarity-I am Baffled

Hopefully u can sell it on FB marketplace or something but first contact Amazon.
Here is the tftestkits return policy incase u are stuck w/ the Taylor one

Decide which one u are gonna keep & do All the tests with it - except cya (wait to do it until tomorrow once the cya is good & dissolved)
For now u will just assume your cya level is the amount u put in.
List all the results like this
👇
Fc
Cc
Ph
Ta
Ch
Cya (estimated)
So u have a baseline
Tonight after dark & tomorrow @ sunrise for the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test you will just do
👇
Fc
Cc

Using Taylor 2006c:
OCLT pm
Fc 3.5
Cc 0 (?) no color steps 5&6.
Water temp 69`
OCLT am
Fc 2.0
Cc 0 (?) no color steps 5&6
Water temp 68`
Not a pass 🙁
Check ph
& ta (so u can properly adjust ph)
Adjust ph to 7.2-7.5 using PoolMath
&
Raise to fc SLAM Process level
If u added 30 ppm worth of cya your slam level is 12ppm FC/CYA Levels
There’s still a few nasties in the water - let’s evict them !

Hope I did this correctly.
cya 55
per PoolMath added 37 oz 12.5 chlorine. Pump running.
You are doing GREAT!
When you do the CYA test, just fill to each line. There is no in-betweenies. CYA always ends in 0. For our purposes, your CYA is 60. Your target SLAM level FC is 24.

I have been brushing, not sure how to vacuum thru my filter/pump, I only have a garden hose brush/bag attachment. Is it safe to go in the water when FC is 20+?
Readings so far:

12:30pm FC 6
3:36pm FC 14
6:30pm FC 21
9:30am FC 20

Keep doing this til FC 24, and then do what?

Keep replenishing fc to your slam level of 24 until u pass ALL 3 end of slam criteria
You are done when:

CC is 0.5 or lower;
You pass an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
AND
the water is clear.
(Crystal Clear w/no algae dead or alive)

It is safe to swim with fc anywhere between minimum and slam level for your cya so long as u can see the bottom of the pool pool for safety purposes. I wouldn’t wear my best suit when fc is slam level though. When fc is high I always try to rinse my suit after (to preserve its spandex)
If there doesn’t seem to be anything to vac up just brush instead. Be sure to get all the seam flaps if u have any (algae loves to hide there)
If u need to use that vac try to be quick since it adds water to the pool.
A regular pool vac head & hose is a good investment. You can likely use the pole u have now with them.

U may need an adapter to get it to hook to your pump or u can siphon vac with it so the junk doesn’t clog the filter. (That’s what I do)

What about checking the cya while doing SLAM? If not, when do I start testing that level?
U already checked it - cya doesn’t change much unless you replace alot of water.
Only test fc & cc during slam. During the day u can just do fc - for oclt you wanna do fc & cc.
How’s the water look?
When slam is complete & fc is below 10ppm - u will check all the levels again & adjust anything necessary.

Daisy, are u sure u have fresh liquid chlorine?
They should have date codes on the bottles - it is recommended to check the dates before purchasing because it loses strength with age.
Try testing fc 30min after your next dose to see where it landed u - if its not where u intended just adjust accordingly by using more.
