I have such a big sad for you. Did you give him any money yet? Do you have any idea how many, if any, pools he is doing right now?

We paid him $15,000 back in October 2021 and we were the 10th install in the que. He told me June 2022 then and told me still on track for June 2022 back in May. He never answers my texts and I've had questions about things I have to do before he starts and his wife will message me on facebook saying that he can't give me an idea of when he will start. That's BS, he has to know where he is at right now and where we fall into the schedule.

What really made me mad, was my co-worker texted him about installing an above ground pool back in April and he said he'd start in late May early June. (I was told back in October by the PB that he wouldn't do an AG pool when I asked him about one). His wife texted me and said they had a separate crew for AG pools...BS again.

Good luck with your build! I have no idea where your trust/confidence level is with your PB, but the lack of communication/delays resembles mine. I signed with my PB in October 2020 to build in July 2021, PB still has not started anything, and only communicates with me when I stop into their office. It is not "just the nature of pool builders." I 100% regret not choosing a different PB I got quotes from, would've had my pool in 2021 as planned (unfortunately he has retired, so I couldn't eat my sunk costs at this point if I wanted to). Be professional and persistent in your follow ups to your PB, but you aren't in the freak out stage yet. Just need to be patient. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, but be professional about it (even if the PB isn't professional in their communication).

Ouch that really stinks. If I would of going with the other builder I would of had it done by march/april of this year. I am professional when I ask, all I ask for is an estimated time because I have to plan around my 4 dogs and how I'm going to take them out since my backyard can't be used during the build and I can't take them all out on leashes to the unfenced section. Also need to know if we tear down the deck and turn it into a patio if it will work with how I have the pool decking laid out.

I hope you get yours started soon!!

My wife ended up messaging the PB's Facebook Page and got a response. They are slated to start next week, as weather and staff cooperate....apparently his workers can't work in 100 degrees with a heat index of 112...LOL

How true that is!!! He just can’t find good help around here or maybe he pays like Crud. I think his two sons who did a lot of the installs quit him some months back. Hope that’s not the case. Guess we will find out before too long or not. Lol

In my quote I was going to have stamped stained concrete coping. I'm thinking about just having it regular brushed concrete like the rest of the decking. If I delete it, it will give me $1,600 to use towards other things. Yes it would look nice but is it really worth it in this case? Any Thoughts???

Make sure the PB will credit that back to you before going too far with this thought. He might be "banking" on this extra money so.....

I like matchy, matchy on types of decking. High lights of different color to showcase the pool is kind of neat also! You can't really go wrong as the only thing everyone will see is the pool as they run to jump in!

If I don't do the colored coping, I can extend the pool side decking back out to 10' wide on each side of the pool instead of 9' wide on each side and I can increase the size of our patio......Hmmmmm?????

I asked about it and the response I got was “I will check” and “Concrete has gone up $6 a yard”….well that equals a whole whopping $100 more for all the concrete…that’s nothing. My bro in law work does concrete for a living and said if they did all our concrete for the pool it would be now more than $5 a sq ft. He said if the pool builder tries to charge more than the $6 per sq ft that we agreed on then I should tell him I’ll have my bro in laws company do it. They have done deckings for my pool builder in the past.

Well at least I heard from them last night that he would swap out the stained coping for the additional concrete work. Still haven't shown up to do anything yet...Still not holding my breath.

I just read about your latest update...that really sucks!!! It's a shame that PB's can't be held accountable, heck no one seems to be held accountable anymore.....grrrrr

Interesting message from the PB's wife last night. She asked me what liner we ordered. I told her the Royal Navy Glistening Palms with Pearl Essence Embossed. Being the type of person that always thinks the worst of some people my mind went straight to, "you didn't order it yet!!". I asked if there was a problem and she said no, just starting a photo gallery file for our pool and didn't have a picture of that liner because they've never had anyone else order it. I thought, well you could look at the contract but remembered that it wasn't specified on which one, just thickness. When the PB picked up our deposit I told him and showed him which one as well as messaged both him and his wife separately (they both acknowledged it) on which one back in October so I have documentation of what we wanted.

Oh how I love how our PB can text my co-workers wife and ask if their AGP liner is in yet but he will just STRAIGHT UP GHOST ME!!!!!! We all went to school together so it's not like we are some stranger.

Well it's a new week, let's see if it's just like the last X amount of weeks with no show PB. I know his "supposed separate" AGP crew is finishing up my co-workers liner today...so is there hope he will show up to do our pool???? Not crossing fingers!!! It's gonna be another scorcher out there so they might not be working much this week or next or the week after or after that or anytime in August or September or....LOL
