IceShadow’s pool thread 2022

Ugh. Pump was stopped again when I got home. Same 0002 error. Spun the impeller again and it started again. I am about to give up and just call someone to look at it.

OH :poop: That does not look good! Give INYO a call and ask them who to send a pic of your part so they can help you match it up. If you have any problem let me know and I can ask for someone from INYO pool get in contact with you here.

I’m gonna move the pump issue to a new thread because it’s worthy of separate discussion.

Well, pump won’t prime as mentioned in the other thread. While I wait for a new seal plate, impeller, and pump seal, I will need to mix the chlorine in by hand.

Do we think the robot will do it enough working on its own if I add by distributing around the perimeter of the pool?

The robot will do a great job mixing it..... when it gets to that spot. I would not risk the time it takes waiting for the robot to find it.

Brush the area good, and be mindful of the area you are brushing to. You don't want to take a puddle on the floor over here, and make half a puddle on the floor over there. It's frustrating at the time I'm sure, but brushing is fast and easy for the most part. It's not like you are scubbing plaster stains.

I continue to add a gallon every other day (standard for my FC usage with the pool cover off), and have the robot mix it in. I try to also find time to brush down the sides in addition to the robot running but life has been a little busy this past week. Hopefully the store that sold me the pump a year or two ago is able to get the sealplate in soon.

Meanwhile I continue to scour the internet for 356071Z or 356071 to no avail.

So my Maytronics Active 40 pool robot is always looping around itself and creating twists around its own loops, even with the swivel on the cord. I think it's from storing it indoors for the winter.

I tried stretching it out on the concrete pool deck on a warm sunny day, but it's still doing it. Do I need to hold the cord tight? It wasn't very tight when I had it straight along the deck.

I found if I "walked" with the plug end free to whip around as I pulled the cord through my hands it would untwist better. I would anchor the cleaner to the deck rails so it could not follow me. I would then untwist it and anchor the plug end with a tiny bit of tension on it in the sun it did better the next few times. I really think the hand walking and pulling it slightly did the most good.

Will give it a shot on my next warm day :)

So I have a order for the pump parts from a local store, but the restock alert from the one online store I can find that stocks the part popped. Got the wife to OK spending $160 to get the seal plate, impeller, and shaft seal from the online shop. When it comes in at the local shop I’ll just keep it as extras. Pine needles will probably shred my impeller in a few years anyway.

I thought about a solar skimmer at one point, but I decided I’d rather typically leave it covered during heavy stuff-dropping-from-trees season.

Pump parts delivered to my house per my e-mail notifications! Hopefully I can rebuild the pump today. Depends on the weather as it was raining earlier but sounds like it might be clear this afternoon.

Ok so I think I know the issue with the old seal plate. Compare how thick the plastic behind the pump seals are. The old one was eaten away behind the seal.

New seals in place, primed it up with one side closed. Water visible in 3 minutes, fully primed in 6. :)
