Thank you! That is a good question, I actually had a pool company come out and look at it. He pulled on it and said it still had a good bit of flexibility left in it. He recommended dropping water level and trying to get the liner back in the rail before spending the money on a new one. He said it obviously still holds water so I may have a little life left in it. I do suspect it won't be too long before I have to replace it.Congrats on the new house and pool!
I know you've been focusing on the equipment and clearing tadpoles and this may be a dumb question but I'll pose it anyway. Have you checked the state of your liner? I ask because it one picture I can see that it's popped out of the track and it looks really faded. Has the liner turned to brittle hard plastic or is still "soft"? Given it's been neglected for so long, just curious on the condition of the actual liner.
He did say if I needed to replace it, the cost would be around $4,000. Does that seem like a reasonable cost? Is replacing a liner something that I could attempt on my own? I have watched a couple videos, it does not look that hard, definitely not easy but appeared doable
