I added 4lbs of CYA stabilizer slowly to my skimmer, per the instructions, and now it has clogged the pipe. I know it’s the stabilizer because it was clumped in the basket as well. I read the old thread which suggested putting the hose in the skimmer until it can’t go any further and running the water slowly to dissolved the clump. What the post didn’t mention is whether or not my pump should be running.

If the line is plugged, do not run the pump as it will be running dry.

In the future, be sure to use the sock method as described in CYA - Further Reading

You should get a big slug of granular stabilizer back into the skimmer. You might also try running the hose from the pump back towards the skimmer.

You can also try running the pump every 15 minutes or so to see if it primes and pulls out the stabilizer.

A week later, I took the remaining stabilizer and put it into a skimmer sock in front of the return jet and put the hose on low directly to the deep end skimmer pipe overnight. The next morning there wasn’t a change. I snaked the deep end skimmer and it opened up. I put the hose on medium and let the pump run and it was okay. At least three times this week the pump sort of stopped and with clogged pipes. I put the hose in on medium and it starts back right (photo below). Most recently this morning with the return jet pumping out on medium with little bubbles coming through. Should it take a week for stabilizer to dissolve? Also, should I keep up with the hose just constantly on low for a few days maybe? I had it on what I thought was low the first night and woke up to my pool almost filled to the top of the weir thing.

If you own a pressure washer get one of these, it will clear out a 1 1/2 to 4 inch pipe...

If you don't have a pressure washer and you get desperate, go buy one and this product it will clear your clog. I have used it to clear lines in my house, works great. I use my pressure washer for sidewalks, washing the cars, at least use it 3 times a year for something.

EDIT
Reading your last post sounds like you cleared it already

Usually I put the sock right in the skimmer basket and let the return water dissolve the CYA into the water.

I would not use a hose you are going to over fill your pool. Get the water level right and just use the skimmer basket.

I do not know how long it will take to dissolve in the pipes but if you have flow then its working and it will just take time. CYA can be gummy. If you get really concerned, just get that device I recommend, it will clear your pipes very quickly.

Putting the sock in the skimmer basket is not recommended since people have had the sock tear and dump the stabilizer into the skimmer which started this mess.

Better to float the sock somehere outside the skimmer and squeeze the sock ocassionally to help it dissolve. If the sock then tears it dumps the stabilizer on the pool floor and you can sweep it around until it dissolves.

I usually fill a knee-hi with 2-3 lbs. of stabilizer and tie a knot in the top. Then I get out my pool pole and run a piece of cord (approx. 10-12"long) through the two little attachment holes on the end. Tie this off, leaving one long tag end. Tightly tie this tag around the knot in the stocking. Lay the pole on the deck with some weight on it to keep it in place, then dangle the stocking in the water in front of a return. If your pool is above ground with no deck, just place some weight on the end and let it hand at an angle over the side (note: will need longer cord since the business end of your "stabilizer injector" will be higher above the water.) After about a half hour, big white clouds of dissolved stabilizer will appear when you squeeze the sock. Keep at it and it goes pretty quick!
