Is it time to go with a SWG?

Hi,
With all of the supply issues with liquid bleach over the last couple years and now having to pay $38 (4 gallons) I’m thinking it’s time to go SWG. I may not save a bunch of money with the switch, but the convenience alone may be worth it. Am I wrong? Thanks

You are not wrong.

You have a single speed pump, so you want the largest out put SWCG. A Circupool RJ60 is a likely good choice.

David,

It is way past time..

I've been running SWCG pools for over 10 years and love them.

Just make sure any SWCG system you buy is rated for 2 x the volume of your pool. A 20K pool needs a 40K cell as a minimum.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Forget the current prices. If you want to see if it's worth the convience, go try and take someone else's away . Be prepared to fight dirty. :)

$38 is crazy, it’s still about $16 for a pack of 4 here. But yea, I enjoy the convenience of the swg.

Looks good. You will have to remove the inline chlorinator and replumb that area. But looks very doable.

Wire the SWCG power center to the timer so it is powered on when the pump is. Check to see what voltage you need.

You will need a salt test kit. The Taylor K1766 is the best. I suspect your pool water has significant salt in it already.

Awesome! So that’s it? Install it and it runs when the filter comes on? About 8hrs? Then enjoy salty bliss? Man, I should have done this sooner!

You have to test FC and adjust pump run time/% SWCG output to meet your FC needs. You might have to run a bit longer than 8 hours in mid summer, but not by much.
