By Owner in Phoenix: started up!!

Ok we are struggle bussing on selecting the waterline tile. We have two options we have narrowed to. The mosaic will only be about 7 feet on the spillway between the square tiles (which will be diamond set. Looking for votes here!!

The coping will be this Travertine, bullnosed. Our patio and other accents will also have that Travertine. The rock on the pillars and for our planter boxes, etc will be this. The images don't really do the stone justice, both have more depth.

Also looking to add this inset, but in blue, to the baja shelf.

Oh and also this for accenting the steps, shelf edge, and seating edges.

I prefer the 2nd choice for the top 2. But. You have excellently gotten it reallllllllllly close and you will love either.

Also, brace yourself for when it goes in. It's hard enough to narrow down the choices, but when the tile goes in on the rough shell it will stand out like a giant neon sign. You will 102nd guess it when there is zero else for your mind to see. Too much ? To little ? It's kinda too late to change ???? You have to force yourself to let everything else come together as what you're looking for will look totally different against the Grey shell and mounds of dirt. Kinda like critiquing an artist 1/4 of the way through while they are painting base colors. Look and see hownthey do it but let them finish all the details and it will be stunning. (y)

Since you are doing o/b you are not limited to the big suppliers. We got our step tile online. Our spa tile too. The prices are so much better and your tile people will use it. This is what we got. It is iridescent and beautiful in person. Order some different samples from them before you make a decision. I know @thewolf56 liked them.

I liked them a lot! The ones you used and another 2 from them are on our top list for step trim tile. The pictures on the website do not do them justice at all.

Questions.

I pulled back some dirt from a trench pile because it was pushing the curve of our baja step in (we only backfilled to 12" so others can use the trench). I assume good move there or would rebar have handled that?

Plumber should be here Any minute. He plans to be done tomorrow and have his rebar crew out on Monday. Before rebar should I tamp down all the dirt clods in the base of the pool or does that matter at all?

Today our plumber will finish up, the rebar will be finished up, and our electrician will do his work. Many crews in today. Pace is quick right now.

I know the feeling all too well... It's crazy how fast things start going once you get to dig day! What's your estimated completion date? It looks like we're just slightly behind you in progress, and we're due to be completed mid-May. Apparently the hardscapes for us will take the longest.

Not sure yet. We are by owner so it's when we can get them in.

Some more rebar photos as the spa starts to come together.

You can see the channel drain as well. We will be using a robot cleaner, not a vac, and apparently they navigate channel drains better.
