By Owner in Phoenix: started up!!

You’re moving right along. Someone in my neighborhood posted the other day that they signed in April, dug in October, plumbing in December and nothing since. I think going o/b is definitely the way to go right now.

Big question here, should I clear out any tie wire snippets or rebar clips in the dirt around the rebar?

is that #4 - 1/2 rebar ?

should I clear put any wite snippets or rebar clips in the dirt around the rebar?
if you wanting to know if you should gather the tie wire cutoffs and rebar pieces I would not worry , they will get locked in place by the shotcrete
or if you are like me and had nothing better to, do a magnet on a stick makes it go fast lol

i also took the time to make sure the rebar was at least 3" away from the dirt in all places not just where the blocks are placed , so I excavated another 2o- 5 gallon buckets of dirt from my walls yours should not be so bad ,,

You sound like me. Yep, I'm grabbing a magnet to clear it all out and gonna measure all the areas too. Lol.

Aaaaaaaarrrrrgh

Need to get a doc from zoning and they don't answer the phone.

First real stumble in this process and I feel like an idiot.

Aiiiight. Listen. If this is the worst thing that happens with your build, you and me are gonna LAUGH and laugh while smacking internet drinks together when this is done.

The speedbumps come fast and furious once the build gets going and sometimes you'll zig when you should have zagged.

On the plus side, you don't need to track down the PB and somehow concince him to get right on it. So there is that. (y)

It's just been so smooth to this point and the first time something went wrong it was MY fault. I don't like being the problem...

And turns out I had the right doc, the inspector just didn't see it in the plans. So then it rained, now it's muddy, so inspection now Friday. Been a week delay but that's OK.

Lol and STILL muddy in the side yard. Our side yard is great for equipment as it is sun shielded. But with the rain and with trenched earth it is a trap rn. We'll have been inspection ready for 11 days by the time it happens. At least I'm in contact with the guy who will inspect it for us. He's in our community.
