Pool equipment delivered today. No SWG came, apparently it is on backorder with Hayward and no ETA. I'm fairly annoyed to be missing stuff, seeing as a signed my contract with them way back in February, but I get that times aren't exactly normal.

Pool company says they are going ahead with the schedule and will come back to install the SWG when it's available. I get that I couldn't use it for 30 days after the pool was filled anyway, but is there anything I should be mindful of when they install the equipment without the SWG?

I guess I need to stock up on liquid chlorine in the meantime, although I'm not sure how much I'll need. I have 6 gallons to start. Hopefully it comes back in stock soon!

Not really. You'll just chlorinate manually and balance the FC to the CYA as noted on the FC/CYA Levels. I suspectc they will leave a a good run of PVC at the end of the pad to come back, cut-out, and install the SWG unless they just insert a dummy cell now. For what it's worth, I've been to two Home Depots in my area and can't even get a simple 1.5 inch 90 degree elbow. Lack of supplies and the increase in cost of things that are available is ridiculous.

Thanks! I will be sure to remind the installers to leave room.

It's funny you mention missing that part. I'm trying to put in 3/4" electrical conduit underground and I also could not find any 90 degree elbows at Home Depot!!

Guess I feel fortunate then! All my parts are here except for the SWG, including the Hayward Omnilogic controller.
This is the correct thinking with the way things are right now. Of all the pieces to be missing, be happy it's the SWG! That's easily replaced by just running direct chlorine instead. There's no such replacement for pretty much any other piece of equipment.

What Hayward chlorine generator are you looking for?
Are you still waiting for it to come in?

I have a brand new one that I do not need.
I have a Hayward AquaRite 900.

It is brand new.
After contract was signed, we added on the Hayward Omnilogic.
Original contract came with the AquaRite.
We were not told, and did not realize, that the Aquarite is not needed with the Omnilogic, since the Omni does the same as the Aquarite (among other things).
Pool builder would not credit us the Aquarite cost towards the Omni.
So, I have an Aquarite sitting around my house, new, and never been installed.

Is that what you are looking for? Is there a shortage for this product nowadays?

I ended up with the OmniPL and it came with the salt generator. Like you, I over paid and paid for an OmniLogic ($3600) and a seperate SWG ($1200) but ended up with the PL. I tried getting money back from the pool builder but they said I got the latest technology and wouldn't give me any money back.

Dang, my PB keeps this stuff in stock, always. When I switched to the OmniPL just days before the equip install, he put the SWCG cell back on the shelf, pulled it out of the invoice, and subbed with the OmniPL. Why would these folks force you to take something they’d probably be better off keeping in stock when lead times from the mfgs are uncertain? There are some terrible small business owners out there…

Did you get your OmniPL? That's what the builder is using on our pool and I'm just wondering if it is B/O or available? The Hayward heatpump w/ chiller function is back ordered. The builder is slow enough and don't want anything else to slow things down.
I got the OmniPL and it's installed. Not sure when they ordered it but I signed my contract back in Feb.

Our equipment was installed last week, and electrical run. Yesterday and today is travertine coping. I guess I need to start a build thread and post the pics from along the way. Our equipment is Hayward, OmniPL, C4030 cartridge filter, TristarVS 950 pump. Left room on the pad for a future heater if we decide we need/want one.
