Winter Garden
Hey everyone, with the pool companies being so slammed this season and getting outrages quotes and timelines I have jumped over to the dark side and taken on owner building our future pool. I am getting ready to submit my first sketch to the engineers next week to start the design process for permit submittal to the county by Jan 2022. Wanted to post my initial drawing to see if there is anything that I should be considering that I am not.

The pool will be 24' x 16' (10' x 7' sunshelf), Gunite, 2 Deck Jets, Pentair equip, 400K BTU Heater, 3hp VS pump, 250 Sqft Sand filter, Automation Easytouch4 w/Screenlogic.

Water Depth - Sunshelf 12" / Shallow Ends 4' / Deep Middle 4'9"

Still deciding where to place lights.

Wife doesn't want a screen so I haven't made any provisions for that either.

Please let me know what you think an what I may want to consider.

I would get a larger 400-500 sq ft cartridge filter.

Why an ET4 with Screenlogic versus an IntelliCenter?

Get nicheless LED lights that screw into standard 1.5" pipe. Stay away from Intellibrite or GloBrite lights.

Some resources that you may find helpful....

The filter is the key to water clarity and filtration the bigger you get the less you'll fuss with it and need to open it up and clean the cartridges. Should a chemistry problem surface it'll handle the job best.

- Whats the reason for such a massive filter?

More time between cleanings.

You will thank us when you have an algae outbreak and your filter is not getting clogged every day or more frequently. It can be time consuming treating an algae problem when your filter requires frequent cleanings.

- Easytouch seems to be what everyone has so would be easier to service and troubleshoot if I run into issues.

EasyTouch was Pentairs premium automation system for the last 20 years. It has been replaced by the IntelliCenter and that is where future updates will happen.

- I'll take a look at the Nichless lights? do you have any in mind that you recommend?

Pentair MicroBrites.

CMP Brilliant Wonders.

- Got it on the Filter. Will probably bump it up to the Pentair 320sqft.

- I thought I had mentioned the lights on the originals posts thats why I was confused. Will be putting a Pentair Microbrite on either side of the bench and a Pentair Bubbler on the Shelf. Thinking of putting two transformers on for the Microbrites and one for the bubbler light to have multiple color combos on the lights between the pool and the shelf.

- Will do more research on the Intellicenter System.

Design is back from the engineer and submitted for Permit last Wednesday 24-Nov-2021

Pool Specs are as follows:

- 16x24 with a 7x10 sunshelf
- 1028sqft Decking

Equipment
- 3hp Pentair Variable Speed Pump
- Pentair Filter 240
- Pentair Heater 400k BTU
- Colorvision Bubbler on Sunshelf
- 2 Deck Jets
- 3 Microbrite Lights
- Easytouch 4 / Screenlogic Automation

Permitting seems to be going fine 2 of 4 reviews are Approved hopefully should have fully approved drawings by the end of next week.

Currently calling LDS companies for estimates but the industry seems to be pretty overwhelmed. So far have contacted 4 companies and 2 have turned down the request for a quote and waiting for pricing on the other 2. If you have an LDS company in the Orlando area that you were satisfied working with I would like to here from you.
