I just want to ask if you guys & gals can look at my test logs and lmk if I'm on track. The water looks & feels great, crystal clear. I'm super overthinking EVERYTHING 😆Because of what I learned from TFP w/my first pool, I do feel WAY more confident in what I'm doing this time. I have checked the box so you all can see my test result history and notes from day 1 w/ the new pool.. I have trouble posting pics on here because my memory & data are low on my android. I'm going to try to set up TFP on my tablet. Thanks as always!

Why are you adding Borax?

Your levels look fine. Focus on FC based on your CYA level and pH in the 7's.

Pool math is telling me to add Borax or Washing Soda as the other option.
I have looked up the ideal levels for my pool on PS. I'm also reading more about the relationship between pH and Alk as that seems to be a bit of an issue right now.
FC and CYA has been my primary focus, pH as well.
Thank you.

The parameters are ranges. Keep pH between 7.2 and 7.8. You do not need to concern yourself with TA unless it goes below 50 ppm. You do need to test for it so you have the data point for Poolmath.

Rolling the dice with those low FC levels. I'd watch that a bit more carefully each day to avoid algae.
I've been testing twice daily. I am adding LC as instructed. A large shade tree was cut down the week before we put up the pool so I am trying to get the FC levels up. I got my CYA level up to be sure my FC is not getting used up by the now full-sun exposure. Thank you!

The data in Poolmath for your pool is what influences the ranges shown as recommendations. You have a vinyl pool of 8400 gallons in Poolmath.

Remember, the Target that is populated in Poolmath is just a suggestion IF your current level of that parameter is not in the recommended range.

So PM recommends what chemicals to add based on those ranges, correct?

Yes. But remember, it is just recommendations. You need to know what is needed and whether or not it is really necessary. Trying to manage you pool in the 'ideal' level is very difficult. Just manage within the ranges. Your above ground pool is very forgiving, excluding FC and pH. Focus on those. FC to prevent algae. pH for swimmer comfort.
