Help with plumbing for new SWG

In another thread I was convinced to buy this new SWG for my non-SWG pool: CircuPool CORE35 Saltwater Chlorinator for up to 35000 gallon salt water pools

The problem is my pool plumbing is 2.5". I contacted Circupool about my options and got the following response: "The largest unions we have is for 2” plumbing. You could consider creating a plumbing bypass around the salt system so that excess flow can pass unimpeded, or if you have a large or high-use pool you could consider installing two systems in parallel."

I have no idea how to DIY the first option and the second option isn't going to happen. Surely there has to be a simple way to do this? A coupling of some sort?

It looks like you have a mix of 2" and 2.5" plumbing. Is the existing tablet feeder mounted on 2" PVC? Can you post some better pics of the plumbing in/out of the heater?

See attached photos. I honestly don’t know the size of my pipe. My builder told me he used 2.5” plumbing. Here is a photo of the bid with highlighted section that I assume is piping size:

Your SWG (Page 13) requires a 7.5" cut out to install the unit and 6" of straight pipe before the SWG. The best spot install is where the inline chlorinator is now. Do you have at least 13.5" of clean pipe between the T-fitting and elbow? That section looks like 2" pipe. The fittings should be marked with pipe size. Your primary pool return and suction are probably 2.5" as shown on the spec sheet above.

Uv sanitizer. Pool builder threw it in for free.

If it is more than about 6 months old it is not doing anything but using electricity. The bulbs have to be replaced often to make them function, which is completely not needed on a residential outdoor pool.

If it would make it easier for plumbing, remove it.

I don't have the ability to plumb. I contacted several people who advised they were months out from doing work. I guess pool business is crazy in So Cal right now. So i'll leave it. Thanks for the info.

I did some math based on the manufacturer saying the bulbs lasted 12,000 hours before needing to be replaced. I run my pump 10 hours a day. That's 3.28 years the bulb will last. Unless you have different info or I missed something?

They degrade over time. You will see no difference in the pool if thing is working or not.

How about the area shown below. It's the only other DIY "easy" install I see. You would lose the ball valve and the ability to bypass the UV system, but you could bypass the tablet feeder. If you hire a plumber anyways, he/she should be able to make everything work.

You could possibly fit the smaller ic30 in there although I don’t know the dimensions. Otherwise I would plumb it as picture shows green being placement of cell(either) on preference.

I think my best bet is to hire a plumber since all this is foreign to me. This is probably a dumb question, but does a "regular" plumber work, or does it have to be a pool specific plumber?
