Can you drop something in the pool so we can get an idea of the clarity? Maybe just put a pool brush in. I think the guys might be onto it. With your FC as high as it is, it may be a metal issue.

I ordered the vac and hose too.
Charity, I want you to know that the Pool Blaster is a great tool. I have one for spot cleaning after my robot and for cleaning my spa. But for getting rid of algae, you need to get it out of the water and going to the filter is the best way. When the pressure is up 25% above the clean pressure, back wash. And with the "dust" and it being yellow-green, I believe you are killing an algae bloom. You may have more than one issue here.

It really has worked well for me in the past, takes some time, but I don’t mind. That’s how I get my pool time in during the day 😂
I am having a much harder time with the edge. The walls almost seem like they are stained yellow.

When we are done with you, You will post ones here :
Sounds good!

Charity- when your pool is clear enough to easily see the bottom (for safety sake) you can still let the kids swim when the FC is up to SLAM level. So 12ppm FC and Under.
Above SLAM level is a no-go for swimming.
I hate to think the kids will lose their summer fun right before school starts again.

The last time we swam was July 4th weekend! It all went downhill after we had quite a few people and high heat. We then started a remodeling project that following wk and didn’t pay any attention to the pool for several days. I was hoping they could swim this wk, they start back on the 11th. They are all teenagers so it’s just here and there, but they have used it a lot more this summer then the past couple summers. They went to visit with grandparents this weekend and will be home tomorrow afternoon. I know my girls were hoping to swim if they can!

Let the FC come down to 10 and check pH.
How does the water look this morning?
When you test FC, raise it back to 12 ppm

Were at 10.5 ppm this evening. So now I would add a 1 1/2 cups chlorine correct?

I don't know if this will help anyone, but just in case, if it's close I block the back with a finger and move it back and forth between the 2 likely ones so I can only see 1 of the probabilities at a time No, it's not quite this one...... and not quite this one either....... but its closer to this one than that one....

I am always happy with the call

This method I’d say prob closer to 7.8

We exist solely to help. If we didn't like it, we'd all be doing something else. Help us help you. 😁

I was answering your questions and got Marty-ed like usual. You're in great hands. :)
How many times a day should I test FC from here? Even in the middle of the day if I need to add chlorine, I should do it, correct?
