New poolman dumped DE into the pool, not the skimmer.

Ouf! Fired his Rear nice and quickly.

The entire pool is filled with diatomaceous earth. Any ideas what to do about this?

Add half of your normal amount of DE to your filter so the grids has some coating.

Run your pump 24/7 and your filter should capture the DE over time.

Watch your filter pressure and backwash when the filter gets loaded up with DE.

You will need to see how much DE settles to the floor and can be vacuumed.

Just added 3 poundsish. I'm gonna let it run for 12 hours and vacuum tomorrow, the sun already disappeared. Worse comes to worst. I'll just remove the grids after 1 week and clean them off again and reapply the DE.

What else can yo do really.

This morning I found the spa half empty. This is the first this has ever happened since I replaced the spring flapper pool check valve 2-3 years ago.

Could this be related?? or is my check valve failing?

Hard to say why it failed. Low pH would be a detriment as they have a metal spring.

Do you have a tab feeder?

A tab feeder will destroy anything nearby if the feeder has tabs inside while the pump is off.
