What does your pool paradise look like?

Peaceful evening with sunset...I'm pretty sure I had a cocktail in my hand. Oh wait, I always have a cocktail in my hand when hanging by the pool. ;)

Gorgeous! I'd like to welcome you to TFP :hand: Looks like you have a good handle on things.

This is the way it looks right now. I believe I will end up installing the other two shades, giving me about 50% pool shading. Cheaper than a pool chiller!

Potted Plants are Periwinkles and Bougainville's around the pool, Crepe Myrtles, Citrus Trees and Magnolias around the yard.

@Do the potted plants stain cool deck? I'm a little worried about putting potted plants on that cool deck!

Just keep those pumps running for those with power it deff keeps the water from slushing up. I open very early here in pa and I have had many nights that it dropped down very cold or we got 2-3 inches of snow. I run at a moderate speed and haven’t had an issue. Right now my pool cover is pulled down and frozen between a layer of ice. I’m hoping it’s not too much pressure around the coping and anchors.

Water to the house froze maybe 4 days ago, can't keep track of the days we've been snowed in so long. Rolling blackouts for the last 3 days. Somehow the pool pump is still operable even after losing power for 3-4 hours at a time in single digit temps. Tree limbs falling all around us. Ready for this freeze to go home but we've got 3 more days to go before the thaw begins. More snow forecast for tomorrow. Worst of all we ran out of beer yesterday. The horror. IMG_0740.jpg

A rare glimpse of the super duper top secret mermaid club. The mermaid on the left is mine, her 2 BFF's might as well be. What it's all about.

I know this is an old post so it's a long shot, but we are having a slide/waterfall put in now as well and so far they are at 24 ton of rock and it's still not complete. (Our builder only quoted us for 6 tons of moss rock.... ) So was just curious if you could tell me how many tons of rock you have and if you knew the approximate price for that part of the build? Thanks so much!

I'm afraid I won't be much help to you on that. The whole grotto/waterfall/slide is not real rock. It was formed, shot, sculpted on site. It's the same technique they use to create that look at zoos, theme parks, etc. I don't remember exactly why, but trucking in real rock for what we wanted to do just wasn't feasible, or maybe cost prohibitive where we live. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
