Solid Pool Cover damages mostly on one side

Hi there

This cover (link) is about 15 years old. For some reason it is severely damaged on one side only, the other side is in much better shape.
Does this type of cover need to be packed a certain way when removed? I don't remove rubber strap and bolts but I doubt it'd result in this type of damage

The only thing I can thing of - strong wind which usually comes from the damaged side.

I don't know how long it'll last since it get damaged every time I remove or put it back on, that's why there's so much gorilla tape on it (most on the inside, you don't see it on this video. some patches are almost sq ft).

is there a way to fix it? If so, how much would it cost? If not, what type of cover should I go with considering very strong wind I get?

I think mesh would probably last longer, but pumping water in the winter is not fun, don't know how people do it when it freezes.. I guess they lower water before snow storm??? Can tarp be put on mesh and secured somehow?
If the difference in price is significant and it lasts just as long or longer, I'd consider mesh.

dimensions are about 42x27

Thanks

I don't know anything about packing a certain way. Is one side exposed more to the sun? Something casting a shadow on "the good side?" Even for part of the year?

I'm not a cover owner, but 15 years sounds like a long time for a cover. How long ago did you start to notice the damage?

If you post some pictures that show what the damage looks like, maybe some of our pool-cover-owning members will recognize what's going on...

I remember one of my neighbors saying he had similar cover for 20 years and it was still in good shape. I don't know the cost of this cover but I believe it was over $3k 15 years ago

I started noticing this damage probably a couple years ago, but it's getting a lot worse. a couple years ago it was easier to put or remove it, now it can only be handled (pulled) by bungees.. otherwise a tear is guaranteed.. that's why I have huge tears, some are a foot long which are taped on the inside

I included a link to short video in my post - click here

Thanks
