New Fiberglass install in Clarksville TN (Dig started Nov 16, 2020)

Just got home & everything looks great. Backfill, plumbing, and water fill is complete. I can’t tell that the one side bowed out, it looks fine. The water level is pretty much even at the way around too. Looks like the next step is to run electrical and start on equipment pad. 🤩

I haven't read this thread........What is the big 12-14" black corrugated pipe going under the pool used for?

I asked the same thing when they installed ours. It's a sump pit, if they ever have to empty the pool they'll pump the ground water out around it so it doesn't float up.

FB pools are inside-out boats, except pools come with 2 T's. Bring Out Another Ten Thousand.......lol.

It's a sump pit,
Yeah, I just don't see why that makes sense over a couple of 8" vertical installs. The curve on that big pipe would make finishing it on the top a little cumbersome. I think I am misunderstanding it somehow. I certainly like the idea of being able to drain away groundwater (it's usually called a well point, I just cant see that pipe as very practical.

I’m curious to see what the PB has planned and gets done this week. Still have to run electric, pour concrete, and get equipment set up and running. It’s supposed to be lows in the 20s for 6 of the next 7 days. I’m ready to get the back yard seeded and strawed to cover up this dirt and mud. I got a 50 lb bag of ryegrass to get some winter cover before my Fescue covers it in the spring. I’m excited to get the pool light hooked up and glowing at night 😎

Nope, nope, nope! You have kids so you have a built in mixing machine. Get some liquid chlorine and use PoolMath to see how much you need to add to get it to 5. Have the kids jump in and mix it or run around the pool with brooms in the water to mix it in that way.

You also need to get some CYA aka stabilizer in it. Again use Pool math to know how much to get and put in to get it to 30. For this get a couple of buckets and put water in them. Put the CYA powder in some socks (like you wear and NO holes) and have the kids swish and squeeze the socks to dissolve it. Pour the CYA water into the pool and have the kids mix that in as well.

Here is a link to help you learn some more about caring for your pool. TFPC for Beginners

You need to add the chlorine and CYA before you get an algae out break in your brand new pool. You have been lucky so far with the water being so burrrrr.

Here’s what I got on the first test of my 19,250 gallon pool. I guess I need to go get some stabilizer and liquid chlorine at Lowe’s. How much? Thanks for all the help!!!
Edit - figured out amounts in pool math app I think ...
1 gallon liquid chlorine
4 lbs 13 oz of cya

I would get at least 2 gals of chlorine. Getting the FC up will take the most at one time.
I bought 3 gallons and put one in the pool. I couldn’t find a date on it at Lowe’s so I hope it’s still potent. I also have a bag of stabilizer soaking in socks in a bucket. PB didn’t show today. It was cold and snowing all day and I knew it wouldn’t be a good day for concrete. Thanks!
