I like to be able to keep an eye on it when i’m away. Also its nice that it alerts me of movements since i have kids & a dog who has been known to leap over the 54” pool wall.
Technically it’s the shop/pool cam

Here's a couple of my AGP and of my son's IGP. Both are TFP. Mine is manual with bleach and his is SWG with full automation.

Hi Maddie

The pool is a Mardi Gras which is no longer mfg unfortunately. The pool was already here when we moved in in 1995. The house was built in 1986. I am guessing the pool was installed in 1987-1990 because the liner had some miles on it the first year we opened it in 1996. When I went to get our second new liner installed in 2014 the old-timer lady at the pool store looked at my pics and said "Oh that's a Mardi Gras. They were big in this area back in the 1970's and 1980's but they have gone out of business." A few years ago I noticed this model at another house and I thought of stopping whenever I would drive by and then it was gone so I never was able to confirm.

@YippeeSkippy (Maddie). No trouble getting a liner. It is a standard beaded liner. The pool structure is in pretty good shape for being so old. When they replaced the liner, there were some roots growing along the channel along the bottom but they were removed and the liner went in with no trouble. It took me a long long time to get the pool in that shape in the picture. The first few years we were going with Baquacil because that it what had been used and I didn't know any better. What a problem that was and expensive! The pool was always cloudy and had algae attacks. I could never keep it clean and balanced. When I had new liner #1 installed in 2005, a friend suggested going with chlorine (pucks) so I did. Much better but still problems since I had not discovered TFP yet and did not know about CL-CYA relationship. Discovered TFP in 2014 or so and got the test kit and things greatly improved after that. I changed from pucks to 12.5% chlorine and haven't looked back. The next improvement will be an SWG based on how well that works for my son's pool and maybe a robot because even though the water is clean, I still get a lot of fine junk on the bottom. I still vac by hand. Those pics are right after a vacuuming and before a backyard party.

Thanks for the compliments on the pool clarity. It is all a result of TFP.

Yes, that was our pool 30 years ago. 20 x 40 with no filtration or chlorine. They drained it everyday and refilled. Every other day, they scrubbed the walls while it was empty. In the middle of a desert...

Wow! The pictures are beautiful and the pool water is so clear. I am under construction and was contemplating service for my IG/gunite/SW pool. No way - I am going to follow the TFP method. Since I live in the south I do fear cleaning out the skimmer basket and finding a snake.

I've got the frog logs, and when using them, never found frogs in the skimmer. I am contemplating switching to the critter skimmer since it does not visually impede the pool.

Also have the add on tower skim pro (they don't make one for my skimmer). The only trick there is making sure there isn't a spider hanging on just under the top for me to grab on to. I use a fishnet to get them out. Keeps me from having to stick my hands down in the water and get stung or bit. I've found wasps, millipedes, and plenty of spiders in there.

Thanks for the information - its super helpful. I waited ten years to install a pool due to my fear of snakes. Sticking a hand down a skimmer is a very brave move.
