This one is for me....

Looks really good came out nice Brian. I'm about to do my first pour in place top in 2 weeks on my outdoor setup. Yours looks good did you use regular 5000 mix or the pricey countertop mix

Premix....pfffft. Brian literally drives up to Portland OR and mines his own portlandite from the Cascade Mountains and then mixes it with sand that he personally dredges up from the Willamette River in which he has painstakingly separated each grain so that it is the perfect selection. He then mixes up his own blend of plasticizers and flow agents. And he doesn’t use any ordinary mixer or tap water - he gets his hands in there and mixes it with his own sweat and tears. He then trowels it smooth while shirtless using nothing but his rippling biceps and a magnesium float he hammered out himself to leave a perfectly level surface with near atomic-layer smoothness.

Bowing in his presence is appropriate .... try not to look into his eyes though, you might go insane at his glory ....

Its just the Quickcrete ProFinish 5000. I didn't add anything to it. The weird thing with this stuff is the amount of bleed water you get and how long it takes to set up, it's different than anything else I've used and that's being very careful how much water I add.

I'm glad it comes across that way?

The actual process is far less than glamorous....

We need to work on your marketing approach ?‍♂️
So crazy coincidence tonight - for some reason my wife decided to show the girls Bob Ross making his magic. I hadn't realized it but I've never watched any of his stuff before. I was cracking up the entire time.

I'm pretty sure he and Kirk Giordino were separated at birth... that or they are actually the same person :suspect:

There aren't too many things I despise more than paint
Thats funny because I'm the exact opposite. All that hard work that looks like construction finally starts to look like the finished project at the paint stage. With the first roller swipe....... BOOM...... new room.

You forgot to mention his trainers that keep him in shape.
looks great! one question-will smoke from grill build up on stucco wall behind grill?
I asked him the same question a couple pages back. You can take the guy out da hood, you can’t take da hood out the guy.
More than likely. I'll just paint it after each use:laughblue:
Make sure you keep proper form.

You’re lucky you only watched one! Any more and you’ll be walking around quoting him.
“Well aren’t you a happy little rock next to a happy little tree”
Kinda but not really. There aren't too many things I despise more than paint so the chances of that happening are very slim... very slim as in not at all?
Just toss up a cool stainless or tile backsplash. Maybe some Spanish tile?

Bob and Kirk may work in different mediums, but they definitely smoke the same stuff ?

That looks awesome! I am in the middle of extending the roof to cover our patio. Eventually will do something like this. Not sure about the grill, as I really love my Weber, but definitely a counter like that, with an ice maker built in.
