Are sinking pavers around Inground pool a danger/threat?

Hey guys,
The pavers around my pool are sloping and sinking down, also coming apart. I got a quote for 15,000 to demo and put new, updated brick down. I really don’t think I can swing that this season. Is this a threat to the pool itself? Can it cause the pool to collapse? Can I wait to get this done or should I bite the bullet to save the pool? Thanks in advance.

Here are some pictures. The guy here vacuuming the pool seems to think my walls are sinking on this one side. Not sure.

edit: So I just measured the water level around the pool. It’s a close 6 inch consistency from water level to brick, however, on the side the bricks are sinking, the water level is only 4 inches from the brick. That is the largest difference in water level. The rest of the pool is 5-6 inches.

Looks to me like the whole patio settled. Mine did it too. Half from time and half from ants digging out all the paver sand. If you call around you should be able to find someone to pull the existing patio up and re-level it, for $2000 tops. Maybe even $1000. But if you want to completely change the patio, you can wait as long as you need to be able to finance it. Just watch for stubbed toes. They hurt.

Thanks for the response, quite relieving. There are tons of ant hills around the brick. I’d like to change the brick to newer brick eventually, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a threat to the pool structure itself.

I am almost positive. The pool never loses water unless it’s intentional.

Yeah, I'd re-level it. Your pavers look fine.

That’s a great DIY project if you have time. A good level, vibrating compactor rental, and sand. Then polymeric sand after all set, with the vibrating compactor again. The polymeric sand is probably $300-500. Day rental $100. Leveling sand - dirt cheap. And a long 2x4. No paver cutting of course. And a dead blow hammer for tapping them down.

I’ve been pulling up some pavers recently and resetting. Will use the poly this weekend. It’s all about base prep. Base for yours wasn’t compacted properly in all likelihood. Doing the original compacting right is time consuming.

That's scary! I just had pavers put in around my pool. I have a lot of ants in my surrounding flower bed. Time to get the bug spray out!
