Baquacil to SWG with Frog Cycler Conversion

How long does this process typically take? I'm not getting impatient or anything, just curious
You are going to love my answer............................it depends  LOL How much goo was left in the water? How often and aggressive you are about testing and adding. Both of these will impact the amount of time and chlorine needed. I have seen a fast one that took just under a week and a slow one that took 3 weeks. Fast one had less goo than the slow one. Both pools owners were very good about testing and adding chlorine so that helped both of them.

Day 2- This morning my FC was 7. I adjusted as directed by Pool Math. Water is starting to clear a little. I can see the 3rd step today. I also backwashed and there's definitely some nasty looking stuff coming out when I do. Been seeing other crud in the water that I assume is coming from the lines or filter.

It's getting easier to bring the FC up much closer to 15ppm now. I dosed it this morning and when I just checked I was at 13ppm. I added more chlorine and will check again in an hour or so. Yesterday I couldn't even get the FC out of single digits.

Day 3: FC level was at 8 this morning. I added another gallon of Chlorine which brings me up to a total so far of 21 gallons of the 12.5% Chlorine I've used. Water is clear but still not completely there yet. I suspect at the rate it's going that sometime tomorrow the water will be back to normal.

Day 4: FC this morning was at 11 so I added a little over 1/2 gallon of Chlorine. The clarity of the water is about as good as it can get. I though I'd get an early start this morning and go get more chlorine just in case I didn't have enough. Well I guess folks have figured out that pool chlorine might be a good sanitizer so no luck. Shelves are empty. I went to five stores. Can I use a granular type chlorine if necessary to continue this process in the event I can't find any liquid chlorine? I realize I can buy Clorox but its gonna be more expensive so if I can substitute with something cheaper I will.

Can you run a full set of tests and post them up?

You can use tablets or powder "shock" so long as you are very aware of what they add to the water (CYA or CH) depending on what kind you get.

Have you changed the sand yet? I think it is time.

You have done a great job and this show what happens when the testing and adding of FC is done as often as possible.

Hold off on adding certain pucks or shock just yet nor should the sand be changed just yet. Let’s make totally sure you’re good. It looks it, but let’s let the numbers talk. Can you post a complete set of test results?

While the water looks amazing there’s still a chance Baqua will be hiding in some nooks and crannies consuming the chlorine. Let’s totally make sure it’s all gone. You will likely be able to only add once or twice a day however and reduce the amount of chlorine lost to the sun, but let’s see what the numbers say.

I will get a full set of test results sometime today. I'm working (from home) and have some meetings so not sure when I can get to it

I haven't got to take a full set of tests yet but I did run out and test FC just now. It's still eating up chlorine at a high rate. My FC level was down to 4 from this morning which was at 11 and I dumped in a half gallon. I was able to find more chlorine so I've got about 12 gallons at the moment. Also picked up some sand. I just put in another 2 gallons of Chlorine
