You have some strange friends!!!

The ingredient “natural flavor” is an industry secret that allows companies to sneak in MSG without labeling it. Both, xanthan gum (a thickener) and maltodextrin (a processed sugar) are made from genetically modified corn. Why do you need those ingredients in your eggs? Because they took out the yolk, which also took out all the REAL natural flavor, thickness and nutrients, that’s why. They even had to add back in vitamins to compensate. Don’t be fooled by this nonsense!

The cool part is xanthum gum is a thickener derived from bacterial slime. It’s like the biofilms we tell TFP users to purge from their hot tub plumbing .... only tastier

You’re messing with me at this point!

Ya think!?!?! ?

This past weekend I bought a 270 GS which is a grill/smoker. I have a BGE, Blackstone flat top grill, RecTec Bullseye Pellett grill, a JenAire propane grill and a 270 Sumo. Of all of these, I believe I am going to use the 270 GS more often than not. As soon as I got the grill this past weekend I started cooking on it. We smoked some chicken wings and made burgers, then I cooked breakfast on it (you can purchase several different cooking surfaces), then made a pineapple upside down cake and brownies and ended by cooking a steak. This is an amazing grill/smoker.270 smoker.jpg

It comes with two charcoal holders so that you can cook over indirect heat if you'd like. Both chambers have their own charcoal basket that lifts out of the smoker for emptying and filling of charcoal. There is also a removable divider between the two chambers to keep the heat in one side if cooking indirect.

Can a chick join in to this boys club too? Oddly enough I came on to see if anyone used a RecTec grill.....but then saw the chicken cutlets mentioned.

I had just made some tonight myself! My breading station includes plain flour, then beaten eggs with a small splash of milk, finally in a mixture of seasoned(garlic powder, oregano, S&P) dry breadcrumbs with equal parts grated cheap Parmesan. Fried in olive oil. Yummy fast meal served with couscous and.salad dressed with EV olive oil/wine vinegar/S&P.

Back to the RecTec (made here in Augusta, GA)- what exactly *are* pellet grills? Can one use these pellets or charcoal interchangeably? The reason is while we have a large gas grill, with just me and Skippy home a small charcoal type grill will be a welcome addition. I miss the flavor and smells that charcoal provides but it just seems a lot of hassle for just a couple of burgers or a steak we share. I know they make small charcoal grills but not a small RecTec.

Any suggestions?

(oh yeah, the corn starch trick y'all recenly have discovered is common to Korean cooking. They often fry chicken in baking powder alone, or mixed with rice flour.)

Maddie,
l will gladly welcome another chick in this group, although I have to admit no one has questioned my presence here. Maybe the guys didn't realize I was a chick. Anyway, I have a RecTec Bullseye. It looks very similar to a Weber grill. To answer your question, no, you cannot use charcoal with a pellet grill. The smoke flavor is more subtle than with traditional charcoal grill. The convenience, however is phenomenal. I can come home, fire it up and be ready to cook in 10 minutes. It also holds a steady temperature. Pretty much set it and forget it. Another option would be the 270 Smoker that I posted above your post. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about Rec Tec.

anybody with dragonfly or unicorn in their name is probably gonna be female. But yeah. 2020 is a wonderful time to be alive and nobody cares. :)

Sure there are *more* guys in this thread and therefore more guy immaturity/humor, But if it doesn’t bother y’all it won’t bother us.

Ok.....if I want to cook just a couple of burgers or one big steak, which smaller grill would be fastest warm up time from start to cooking, and which type would be cheaper to use (pellet vs charcoal briquets)?

Our gas grill is just fine, but I miss the good smells/taste gas doesn't provide.
