New Pool Build - Marin, CA - Finished

Here are some updated pics today after the shotcrete for the spa and grotto. The team has also made good progress on putting on the limestone veneer for the retaining walls.

They are coming on Wednesday again to finish up the spa. Progress!

Lol, yeah lots o pipes in there. You are seeing a combination of back jets, calf jets and lights. Here is a layout of what we are going after.

- The black triangles indicate where the back / calf jets will go.
- The semicircle with the dot in the middle is a very small light (Pal Mini. Think 1-2 amps) which will gently light up the step in front of it.
- The semi-circle without a dot in it indicates a Pentair Intellibright which is 12 amps.
- The "G" lights are a Pal perimiter led strip lighting.

Yes, this is a lot of lights! But I figured we can always turn them off/down if it is too much. But we can't add them in later.

And yes there are going to be a ton of pumps to power all those (and everything else in our pool). We have two separate areas for equipment rooms which will house everything (one under our house and the other in a vault adjacent to the pool on the other side.

Good question on if the jets will be hooked up to a special therapy jet or not. I have to ask our pool builder about that. Did you have any in mind that you liked?

The spa was also designed with a bunch of steps to make it easier to walk in as well as several bench heights to accommodate different seating depth preferences.

Quick update. Tiling has started on the coping and infiniti wall. They are using tents over the area where they are tiling to keep the heat down to slow the curing process (or at least that is what they told me, maybe they were hot) ? :)

Also some work on levelling / rebar for the seating area for the pool.

NICE! You know you are going to have to hand out sunglasses to help keep the BLING from the edge from BLINGING into driver's eyes!!! LOL

I am sure the tents serve both needs-helping with the tiling and keeping them from overheating while they work=score for everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates. It's been slow going. Work has been progressing on the equipment room (under the house), tiling for the pool/spa and forming the grotto. We are going with a Moroccan theme there. Here are a few pics of the progress.

This is the spa which is adjacent to our house Lots of different bench heights. An automated cover will come out of the space on the right hand side which will also be used for additional spa seating.

Here is a pic of the pool and grotto. The spa edge is at the bottom of the photo and will pour into the pool. Pool seating will be on the right hand side.

Here is the grotto. We were inspired by Morocoo and it will have a waterfall coming over the top and lots of fun tile inside.

This is the wall the separates the spa (up top) from the pool (down about 4 feet). We went with black river rock for a more zen effect. Our hope is the water will kind of trickle down over the river rock into the pool.

Someone has some mad concrete skills with what they did to the grotto!!! SWEET! LOVING everything about what has happened. I sure hope the black stone wall comes out like you want it to. That will look SO pretty and the sound should be great as well!

Wowzer, slow however great progress!!!

What are those " Bumps" in the spa steps? Look to be roughly 14" from each end.

John
Check out this post with the detail pics of the spa.

They're small lights for the steps.
