Worth paying somebody for startup?

Hi all, just got done doing an owner build pool in Phoenix and was wondering if it’s worth paying to have somebody come out and do startup. The suction plug in the skimmer was removed by pebble so not sure if it’s for $385 to have somebody come out and startup the equipment. Any insight would be appreciated!

My startup was included but would have been a waste of money had I paid for it. They literally just turned everything on and flung some random chemicals in the water without testing either before or after.

U mean brushing plaster during the first few weeks of its existence? If they’re going to come out twice a day for a few weeks for $385...sure thing!!

If you mean startup as in turning on your pump and maybe adjusting timers and brushing the pool once...not a chance. Might as well figure out how your equipment works now. You’re asking for trouble if you don’t figure it out at some point soon.

That’s my thinking too. The last pool we had built by a PB so startup was included, but all they did was literally come start the equipment and dump startup chemicals in.
