In SLAM process

Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

SLAM Process

If there is debris at the bottom it needs to come out. The more debris lurking in the pool, the more FC loss. Your chlorine will work to oxidize it leaving you little to oxidize the algae. Do you have a leaf net or any net to scoop around carefully and see?
I do have a leaf net and since I'll be getting in to get the stairs out, I can feel around also. I have an robo vacuum. should I put that in and let it run?

You’re a better woman than me getting in ? I didn’t even like sticking my hand in there. Kudos!

It does need to be vacuumed everyday during SLAM. I was only able to vacuum once or twice a week due to my long shifts. I suspect that slowed my progress.

I don’t know much about robo vacs and if they clog easily? Someone else will weigh in on that I’m sure. Plenty of people do use it during SLAM but idk if that is before or after scooping debris out.

Do you have a lot of leaves that would make their way into the pool?

LOL! Thanks. I do what I have to. I'm not fond of it either but it's either I do or it won't get done. I'm tired of my green pool. I just imagine I'm getting into the lake LOL

My robo vacuum is pretty good. It's got 2 fine cloth lungs on it. I'll throw that in after I get out. It's also good for kicking up the algae. I have lots of trees around the pool and I'm sure there is some debris. Time to test it again and swim in "my lake". I'll report in a bit.

Ok. Stairs and floaters are out. Woop Woop!
Surprisingly the bottom wasn't gross. Probably due to the brushing I'm doing. Not much debris at all.

FC=12
Pool math says add 1.7 jugs.

Anytime! The folks around here are invaluable! They’ve taught me many things! Hopefully you’ll be to cloudy blue this week! Be sure to backwash when your psi rises by 25% of your normal pressure.
I completely agree. The knowledge here is amazing and the help is so beneficial!
I keep a close eye on the return pressure and rotation in the pool.

What bleach are you adding? I'm wondering if maybe the foaming on the top is due to additives in the bleach - if so, you might be able to find something better for chlorination. :)

I’m using 10% chlorine bleach from Home Depot. The bubbles are gone now & dissipated by noonish. I posted pics I took throughout the day earlier in he thread. The green water was taken about 16:30 & the “blue” was at 20:00. Im hoping the blue color isn’t due to the sun going down. I’ll see in the morning.

I think my pool was just scared of the chlorine. Lol
