Hopefully this will be a short slam!
Hopefully, but take nothing for grantid. Follow each & every step on the SLAM Process page. Now may be a good time to remove that ladder as well and inspect the tubing if possible. We've seem horrible gunk get clogged-up in those. Some folks will use pressure nozzles to flush them out, then inject chlorine into them with a syringe or turkey baster. My point is, algae is a tricky beast. Check liner folds, anywhere that algae can hide.

I started on TFP in 2013 when we set up our pool ... I had to make a new profile last year because I think they changed the forum. Anyway ... I would never have attempted to do stuff like change the sand in the filter without yall! Maintaining the pool has always been my job since my hubby didn't really want the pool ... he thought it would be a pain ... Thanks to this forum he has changed his tune, and we all love the pool! Last year I just struggled with hip and back problems and couldn't do all the scrubbing ... so lots of PT and now I am back! Hopefully this summer I can do all my exercises in my crystal clear pool again!

I will take it out and give it a good scrub ... if I remember correctly it is full of sand or something.

As for the sand ... I really think it is play sand and it wouldn't surprise me ... the previous owners of the pool told me they did the BBB method, but lots of things I have learned along the way make me doubt that they really followed a method ... just because they gave me a bottle of strips and a whole bunch of chemicals that I never used. I didn't know what the BBB method was, so I found this site before we ever put water in it the first time. I had no idea I should have looked at the sand!

tested chlorine at 9.5 ... added to get back to 12. Out for few hours and will test again before bed time!
That's how you do it! :goodjob: When life interrupts the SLAM, test/adjust the FC when you get back. Maintain as best as you can. Take a pic of the water each day to monitor progress.

Was gone for about 4 hours, tested - FC 11.5, so added liquid chlorine to get it up a little ... waited 30 min - at FC 13 now ... I over shot a little to try and stay ahead of the 12 target overnight. CC still at .5 - will check again in the AM!
