Pool finished filling up today and the PB came out and put 20 gallons of acid in the pool and brushed it for the first time. The water turned from clearish green to murky deep blue...still very curious to what the color will be once the water is balanced. The tile people also came out and finished the three columns (and managed to get some mortar in the pool...). Pump goes on tomorrow.

We also decided on the dark stain for out pergola, matches some of the accent shutters and garage color of our house so we already have an idea of how the color compliments our brick.

He is doing a "hot start". Do NOT get in the pool!! Do brush it as often as you can. Try for at least 2 times a day. Is the pump running?

Kim:kim:

He warned us about the pool water and said it is best not even let anyone in the backyard just in case (2 littles and a dog).

The pump is not running yet. I asked them if the pump needs to go on yesterday afternoon right after we finished filling and they said they will start to run it today.

PB stopped by today. They said the acid will sit a couple more days while we brush then they will neutralize it and turn on the pump.

Picked out the spraydeck color today and they are coming Monday to lay it down and add two more umbrella holes on our patio. Katchakid (pool safety net) is scheduled for April 30th but we are on their list to come out earlier if they have a cancellation.

So we’ve been brushing a couple times a day which isn’t an easy task in a free form pool with rocks haha.

Since the pool was filled Thursday we’ve lost about 3-4 inches of water in it total and have had to add more water twice. Pool builder is going to swing by in the morning (and our spray deck should be going on tomorrow too).

So no prognosis from the PB on the water loss. We filled it back up yesterday evening (6pm) and by 8am this morning it went down about 3/4 to 1 inch.

Came home to the below from the pergola electrician today. Not happy with the switch placement, where they ran the electrical (they could of run it down the side of the house imo), or the off-center placement of the fan. Wasn't expecting them today, thought the Spraydeck people would be here instead.

Also, PB is trying to figure out the leak.....it is for sure a real thing. Their first concern is a light on the side of the pool where a wet spot in the grass/mud has been wet since the pool is filled. They are also going to pressure test the pipes, but they said they've never had a pipe leak before and I have no reason not to believe them at this point.

They stained the pergola today. And started to move the electrical, hopefully we get to see what it looks like tomorrow.

Pool is still greenish and cloudy, they've added chemicals to it the last two days and the pump has been running. Can't wait to see the color of the pool water in a few more weeks.
