Possible new pool build this fall- help with quote, please!

Here is a pic of the CH test after adding the10 drops R-0010 and 3 drops R-0011L BEFORE adding any of the R-0012 drops. I am still getting 0 for CH result as I only see blue- not red. FYI- we are on a well and have a water softener system hooked up.

So what chemicals should I have on hand when they get around to filling the pool? Knowing we are getting most of our water from a local fire department and topping off with our well water?

Thanks so much for your help!

You may need calcium chloride to increase your CH to ~300 ppm.

Any way to get a sample of the water the fire department will be bringing?

Ask your PB what chemicals he will be providing first. I am hopeful you will not have to spend too much money if he steps up.

Just in case the PB does not provide what you need here is a list of what you HAVE to have on hand:
-liquid chlorine (he may start you with pucks/tablets
-muratic acid-make sure it is the 31% stuff
-CYA aka balancer/stablizer-look for the powder stuff-your PB might add this
-calcium chloride to add CH

I am going to share a link you might have already seen: Trouble Free Pool It shows you want we use to adjust each level.

Just to remind people that Clorox bleach is not suitable for pools if it says it contains Cloromax Technology. That is polymers which you do not want in your pool.

Thanks! I love your pool too- looks like we have similar taste in tile/coping/shape! Thanks for the advice about the aggregate. I noticed your pool is 3' in the shallow end too- I guess it's too late to change anything at this point, but what are your thoughts on that depth?

It’s 3’ for a very small distance (less than 1’). The whole shallow end is a gentle slope to about 5 - 5 1/2’. Then a steep slope to 8 1/2’. The depth profile works great for us. Since it’s pretty long, the shallow end has plenty of space, and the deep end is is my favorite part.

Deck was poured today and stormwater management system was started today. Here are some pics

The end of the MUD and dirt..............well of the most part that is LOL. That came out great! What is next and when?

Kim:kim:

Unfortunately, it seems like it’s only just the beginning of the mud and dirt- what you can’t see from the pool area is the massive pit they had to build for stormwater management purposes. Next up is final grade and landscaping and then fence and finally plaster. Plaster date is scheduled for mid May but we’ll see if we are able to bump that up if landscaping finishes early.

Why wait for the landscaping to be finished? They will just mess it up with their trucks and such.

Is the stormwater pit that mess behind the pool? Will it just be a part of the landscape or will it be fenced off limits?

Fencing is done. Landscaping is just about done- just waiting on lighting now. Plaster later this week and inspection/pool school on Monday. Can’t believe it’s finally coming to an end!

So glad I have read this forum and knew to ask for the color before they took it off the truck. They brought the wrong color finish....so now we wait. Hoping they can still do this today.

Well nuts! Are you ready to fill right after they are done? I had 2 hoses ready one from each of my outside faucets. I got new hoses with 3/4" hose for full flow. Then we wrapped a hand-towel around the end of each to act as a filter. I remember my plaster was SOOO bright white but changed very quickly within a week to a mottled grey.
