New Build - Allen Tx

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner....My ph is Always off the charts (with the spillover). Any suggestions on preventing or cleaning it? Should I powered it or put a toothbrushto it? .... decrease the spillover time...gallons and gallons of MA?

Turn off the spillover unless you are entertaining. Run it 30 minutes a day at most to keep the spa chlorinated. That is the problem with spillover spas. Really need a separate plumbing loop to circulate just its water. You an do it by adjusting automated valves to balance out and in while your normal pump run time is occurring.

The calcium build up can be take off with dilute muriatic acid. But even if you keep your pH perfect, with hard water, you will get calcium buildup if you run the spillover all the time.

Good luck.

I was told the same thing about quartz (why I changed from pebbletec). But either my kids have the most tender feet next to new-borns or it like fine-grit sand paper. I'd hate to see what pebbletec does to them....I assume it will get better with time because they are in it everyday for 3-4 hours straight.

Hmm. I'll research it more. I know it's subjective based on pool size but what was the cost differential for pebbletec and quartz?

I was told to run atleast 10 hrs a day. I can cut back to 30 minutes?
