Vegas OB! Just got plans back and need some feedback (pics included :) )

Leave the pH alone. You are already on the low side.

I'm still trying to understand why you are disappointed that you aren't having to add gallons of acid and chlorine to the pool each day

I will leave Ph alone.
I'm not disappointed at all that I'm not having to add chemicals, I'm just more curious why my pool is not responding like most pools on here and just would like to see if there is an explanation why. Also because I'm new at this I get a little nervous that one day my numbers might just go crazy and jump all over the place lol
Only thing I am disappointed about is that my pool won't heat up high in full sun since I'm a cold water chicken.
I would love to hear your insight on the way my pool is behaving or if you have heard or seen similar startups like this.
As always I am very thankful for you and the help you have given on my build and taking your personal time to answer my calls and emails. Your business will always be blessed because of the way you treat people

Big Will I have it figured out...your pools just confused or maybe shy. When the rest of us are looking at feeding winter pool water your pool will be a toasty 94 degrees. You will be floating and smiling the whole time.... :)

Hahahaha. That would be awesome! They come hook up the heater on Wednesday and the first order of business is heating the pool to 90 degrees lol

Just wanted to share that my pool got to 90 this weekend, so the darker plaster has definitely raised our water temp a couple degrees from the previous white...sorry yours is still chilly!
I also wanted to mention that 10 days after plaster, my PH is a lot more stable than I expected! It's getting pretty close to what my maintenance dosing has been for the past 4 years, I'll see how it changes this week. My bleach is now at my normal maintenance dosing also. I wonder if the Vegas plaster is a special blend LOL...

I'm so jealous about your water lol. My water got to 87 degrees then it started to rain on Sunday and dropped it to 83 ggrrrr. I was so hoping I would get close to 90 then Mother Nature kicks me in the mouth.
Also I'm glad to hear that others are using minimal chemicals . Makes me feel like I'm not the weird kid sitting in the corner of the classroom that no one feels should be there .
Is your TA high on your side of town, and where do you normally keep it?

My TA on fill was 120, we got hit with a lot of rain in my neck of the woods over this past week and my TA dropped to 80. I've kept mine between 80-120 over the years and I haven't had any problems with it in 4 years. We have gotten a lot of wind with some rain these past few days, so my temp is down a couple degrees to about 84, I looked back and I believe my color is a little darker than yours, look at my water color pics on my thread and see what you think.

I love your water and it is a deeper blue than mine.
Thanks for the info on TA, mine stays around 100-120. Around how much acid do you put in daily or weekly. The other day I put some in and my ph dropped to 6.8 and stayed there for 2 days before it went up to 7-7.2. My ph raises very slowly and my fc drops slowly. I'm hoping I can run my SWG less

I thought my water might be a slightly darker than yours, so that's probably getting me the extra couple degrees.
I was surprised my TA went all the way to 80, mine usually stays around 100-120 pretty consistently. On average I'm adding about 16oz of acid a day (29% stuff) to keep it at 7.4. The most I've had to add in a day was 32oz during the first couple days after plaster. I'm adding about 40oz of bleach a day, that's 2ppm in my pool. It must be all your bling reducing your chems!!

We got hit with a ton of rain again this morning, so my pool is cold at 82 degrees!! I'll probably have to pump a little water out again this week, it's only about an inch from the coping. Last week it filled to the coping edge and I had to pump some out...gotta love monsoon season!

Ok so yesterday night was the first time i full tested and added anything since Sunday which was 3 days ago when I dropped ph a bit to much. Since Sunday it has rained a few times so I was just curious on how things were since my pool is almost full to coping. So here are my results
FC-2
CC-0
TA-110
CH-350
PH-7.8
CYA-50
Temp 82 ( this morning it's 78 :(...
Considering the rain , I think my pool would not have changed a ton if it were not for Mother Nature. I brought the ph back to around 7.3 and FC to 8-9
Today the SWG is supposed to be installed so I'm pretty happy. I'm also curious if my pool will start to respond differently now.....

Oh and my screen logic app keeps acting up, which is super frustrating. All my settings went away and it doesn't even show pool in my circuits. Also on A few different occasions it's been unresponsive. Is there a way to do a reset to get it to act right?
I'm about to call pentair but would Love any tips

So they came to install my SWG and had to replace the pipe cause it was leaking so no SWG and to make matters worse, the gas company came out and installed bigger meter and.....
My brand new heater doesn't work. :(...... now it will have to be replaced under warranty which could take another week and my water is down to 77 so now all I can do is look at the pool cause I can't find a wet suit that fits me Hahahaha.
I'm being tortured with this cold water

Hey Big Will, I'll trade you. Our water is 93 right now and to me is bath water. I have to run a fountain every other night to keep it below 90. :p I've kept up with your thread though never commented. Awesome job on everything! Maybe someday an IGP will be in the budget, we're a long way from that though. It would be a lot easier just to buy a new house with one already in.

Man not only would I trade you in a heartbeat but I would even send a check your way as an extra thanks lol
Thanks for the compliments
And it's AOLT cheaper to buy one with a pool but it's more fun and headache to build one lol

Oh Will, that's awful! I'm so sorry - that's simply not fair.

Did someone check the heater to make sure it's hooked up correctly?
I had the guy out to triple check and please believe I drilled him to see if there was anyway I could get some heat even if they had to use duct tape lol
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO that was what I heard over here! I thought it early thunder :(

Kim:kim:

Lol

So we just went back to pick some more stone from the bench and would love some feedback. Let me know which stone you like best. I would like to keep a more high end look in the back yard that flows with the current decking.
First one

Second choice

And a picture of the bench

What will be the final look of the bench, wall, and columns? Will you be using the stone on all of the structure or just parts for accent?

That's a great picture you posted to help get the overview. Without the answers yet, my first reaction is to be careful of taking away the wow factor of your spa spillway. Maybe incorporate some of the spillway stone (or similar) as trim on the bench structure. Other than having some accents, I'm leaning towards using the same ledger stone as the pool raised wall and wings on the spa.

From the view of the photo, a dark stone on all of the bench structure is going to get lost in front of your perimeter wall.
