Hanging a rectangular Intex Ultra Frame Pool directly from the pool deck

Jonas, Sorry to see this setback.

Don't toss the liner! Save it for repair pieces if something similar happens again. Glue is fairly inexpensive compared to a complete liner.

I'm certain you would be able to think of a way to reinforce the next liner with pieces from this one, now that you know of one of the failure modes. Perhaps a 200mm wide band 2/3 up from the base all the way around the new liner? 500mm wide corner doublers? Just a couple of ideas....

Jonas:

Get a new liner and install it under the deck with the metal collar and supports. It will look great and last much longer than you think. Be happy it failed when it did and you didn't have 6 or 7 times the water.

Jonas,
I always have leaned more from projects that didn't work out 100% to plan then I did from the projects that did! I have been following your build, it looks GREAT. Keep your head up, smile. Keep going on this pool !!!!!!!

Reinforcing the deck or dropping it by 1/4" will make little difference. The connections in the deck or the deck itself, will fail at some point. And the failure occurred with just a static force applied. The dynamic force will be significantly greater. The pool as designed uses the mass of the water itself to keep the pool structure together. Build the pool as designed and hide it under the deck.

Sorry it didn't work out, it was an interesting experiment. I just completed my build with the same pool. I used the standard construction and then built the deck around it. You have the concrete slab and the deck structure. You should be able to reuse most of it with just minor mods. Good luck!
