Just bought the new zodiac mx8 elite from leslies pool supply for 399.99. The first mx8 lasted 9 years with buying 150 or less in parts through the years. The new model has "brushes" that clean algae from the walls.

To get rebate purchase price must be 524. Leslies is giving the rebate instantly so you don't have to wait.
How does it perform with straight walls (i.e. no curve at the bottom)? Does it get stuck?
Update: I went to Leslie's and bought the MX8 Elite. Had to pay $525 and they handed me the rebate form. Now I have to wait 2 months for my rebate. But the MX8 seems to be performing ok in my pool. So far I'm happy with it. Not getting stuck anywhere for too long and climbs walls all the way to scrubbing the waterline. Hopefully the reliability is good.
