That can happen with mustard algae. The weird thing too is that shouldn't the chlorine be eaten up quickly with algae present?
It's in my signature - we have a SwimPro Voyager Filter - not sand. My husband vacuums daily and cleans filter daily -- every time he vacuums the pool then gets cloudy.Slam may have killed it all, and you are in the cleanup phase. You don't say what filter you have. Sand filters take the longest to clear the pool.
Watch your pressures on the filter. When it rises 25% over clean pressure, clean or backwash again.
Keep on the SLAM, you don't want it to come back while you are clearing the pool.
How often are you checking and replacing FC?
I just tested our CYA again yesterday - it looks to be a 45 or so.After the SLAM, run hot for a few weeks.
Maybe a FC/CYA of 15%.
So, a CYA of 60 needs the FC to be at least 9 for two weeks.
If it easily puffs away (try brushing near it but not over it) then its just dirt, dust, dead algae or pollen. The pool is crystal clear, and there is only a very very small patch of deposits on the floor. Picture attached.
