Yellowish/Greenish/Brownish Powder on bottom of pool

Awesome, thanks for that. Pump being on high 24/7 makes my hubby nervous. I know the SLAM process says to maintain the shock level throughout the day - but does it make a huge impact just to test it at sunset every day and get it to shock level once a day? May be a dumb question, but just wanted to ask. We both work, so the multiple times throughout the day during the week makes it a bit difficult to keep up with.

Slam may have killed it all, and you are in the cleanup phase. You don't say what filter you have. Sand filters take the longest to clear the pool.
Watch your pressures on the filter. When it rises 25% over clean pressure, clean or backwash again.
Keep on the SLAM, you don't want it to come back while you are clearing the pool.
How often are you checking and replacing FC?

It's in my signature - we have a SwimPro Voyager Filter - not sand. My husband vacuums daily and cleans filter daily -- every time he vacuums the pool then gets cloudy.

Yes. I just added 9.5 cups of chlorine as our FC went from 20 to 14 overnight this time. This is the 2nd day into the SLAM process after we had stopped a couple weeks ago.

Hi all, perhaps a final update!? But wanted to share with you our progress.

We've been in a constant SLAM now since last Tuesday. The last few mornings, the FC has been 19 ....and this morning it was 20 so we lost NO chorline overnight.

The pool is crystal clear, and there is only a very very small patch of deposits on the floor. Picture attached.

Is it safe to say that we can now stop running the pump overnight, we can stop the SLAM, and we can now aim to keep the FC at 7.5 daily? Or do we still need to continue due to that very small patch even tho lost 0 chlorine overnight?
