There was a thread a few years back about yellow stains appearing on the concrete pool deck after the winter cover was removed. We have that and it gets worse every year. No one can figure out what it is.

Sounds like perhaps residual moisture transfer from the pool up & under the edges of the cover. Perhaps. Other factors may come into play such as the cover material, type of decking, etc. But below are just two or many such discussions.

We have had inquiries asking why the concrete patio gets orangish stains in it under the area where the cover has been on after the pool has been covered over the winter. I can't be positive, but I believe that during the offseason in the northeast, the remaining chemicals in the pool can...

Concrete is Stained, need help
After our pool cover was removed to open our pool, there is a huge light orange stain all the way around the entire pool underneath where the cover was placed. Power washing with water did not remove it and it looks like a chemical stain of some sort. Need help to identify what the heck this...
