Yellow Algae Or Calcium Scaling?

South of Dallas by about 30 minutes.
This plaster is barely 1 year old and the pool is barely 2 years old. I had a bad CH issue with the first plaster (when pool was new) where it got into the 500’s relatively quickly and stayed there until the new plaster was done.

Are you saying those are current test results, even after your wife adds muriatic acid and "chlorine" ?? What type of "chlorine" is she adding?? CalHypo??? Has she or you added any other potions from the pool store? Anyone using CloroxXtra Blue products?

Can you take over pool water management from your wife and measure things, use PoolMath, etc?

Your rock problems look like efflorescence to me. Try a dilute 4:1 MA to water solution and brush to see if that helps rid those. But they do tend to reappear as its water from behind pushing calcium salts forward.

Those are current test results before MA was added. pH is now 7.4 and all others pretty much the same. We use liquid chlorine with no other additives besides MA to control pH and baking soda to increase TA from 40 to 60. We don’t go to the pool store for anything.
Thanks.

Maybe your MUD changes the water source. It is very strange to have CH that high with only 140 CH makeup water. You need to find the source.
