I am hooking up my Pentair solar controller and the solar sensor calls for "twisted pair 20AWG outdoor rated sensor wire." I cant find that anywhere online. I would appreciate any guidance...... Thanks very much.

This is an extremely timely post. I was just going to post the exact same thing for the Hayward solar controller I just bought. 
My instinct was to try something like this -
For anyone smart in these things, can you advise if something like the above would work? Also, even though it calls for 20-gauge, could I use a thicker wire like 18-gauge or would that mess things up?

Thicker is fine.
The door bell wire will work. Sprinkler wire, security wire, etc will also work.
