Will Heat Make PVC Glue Release?

I need to replace a leaky piece of PVC flex pipe. It's glued to a PVC stub connector and I've got no room to trim either pipe & place a new connector. Can I use a heat gun to heat up the flex pipe and pull it off the connector stub it's glued to?
