Flakes, my pool water is VERY warm right now. What is CSI? I’m working on lowering my TA but my fill water ph ALWAYS runs higher ph.

Hi Jennifer.

CSI is a calculation of the scaling tendency of your pool water. Several factors are used to calculate CSI, but the biggest contributors are pH, CH and TA. To mitigate scaling, TFP recommends a CSI between -0.30 and 0.0. This time of year, we see a lot of scaling generated within the SWG cell. If you post a full set of test results, we can provide some guidance on your pool's numbers.
