Sorry, but I'm super confused now because Rocket Squirrel said between pump and filter, but ajw22 says between pump and heater?!?
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying remove the entire pipe section from the unions, drill a hole, and make sure there's no PVC debris inside the pipe and then reassemble?Un-pro tip: Don't use a drill (like a brad point) that can create a little 3/8" disk as you punch through at the end. Since you are past the filter, this can cause mischief with valves, return eyeballs, etc. Don't ask me how I know. Best is to remove the pipe completely at the unions - which looks possible in the pics - and flush clean before re-installing.
Yeah if there is any concern that drill debris can cause problems downstream. Probably overkill, but undoing/redoing a couple of unions should be 2 minutes. The main thing is to use a drill bit that doesn't punch out a disk as it breaks through.I don't understand what you mean. Ok, so I disconnected the unions, drilled the 3/8" hole and removed all debris before reconnecting...I hope this is the right spot.Yeah if there is any concern that drill debris can cause problems downstream.
