I have bought a kit and am learning. The pool service doesn't appear to be doing things correctly, but I want to prove it before I fire them and hit them with negative reviews.
What Marty said. Plug numbers into poolmath. Target 7.6 pH and add whatever acid that requires. Let it mix good then add enough chlorine to get you to 5 FC. That's it. You're balanced.
The starting point is measuring the spa, unless you already know how much water it holds.
