When is my pool swimmable? Am I missing anything?

Help: Got salt water pool system and Above ground pool set up.
- Adding recommended 5.5 bags of salt and turned pump on
- waited 24 hours
- turned salt system on 4hours, is that right???

tested with provided strips with pump and seems okay.
Questions: when can kids get in? Anything else need to do? How many hours a day to I run chlorinator?

Don't know. Test strips are notoriously wrong. If we gave advice on strips, we could do more harm than good.

I'd add 3ppm of liquid chlorine a day until the kit arrives.
