When is it time to replace ?

We inherited this pool when we moved in. I can’t find the paperwork on it that I misplaced, but I found a sticker on the side that says “doughboy pools 1989”. It’s an above ground oval that has been great for the last 4 years, but our liner just broke. I was in the process of replacing the liner however knowing it’s over 35 years old I’m not sure now. When is the life of a steel pool over? I’m researching answers now, so any advice is helpful. Thank you

As you take it down, look at whether it's full of rust or looking good. While usually people would say replace - especially since your liner can definitely stay in place 10+ years- if you're doing your own liner, you may want to try to extend. You're well beyond any warranty, but without pictures only you know whether it's still good.

The walls seem to be in good shape, minor bowing on one section but no rust except for couple small spots on top rails. Thanks for your reply
