We were hanging around 91-92 (ambient high 90's, heat index 110-115) but finally got a little rain that has brought it to 86. Sure it won't last, though.
I think my thermometer has gone the way of the dodo bird. Took my temp today, 88 air temp, pool said it was 73!!!??!?!!? Tested a sample with our quick read cooking thermometer, it was 84. I wish they'd make a pool thermometer that lasted more than half a season...
We got a cheapo one from the dollar store. It's been working fine for the past two years and cost $2.00 (not sure why it was in the dollar store if it cost $2).
101. I usually keep the cover on (solar) to save water, stop evaporation between rains and also thew wife likes the hot pool for exercising, because arthritis . Grandkids don't seem to care either way. I do have a big fountain and can cool it down if desired with that. Now if I could just save some of that heat for later in the year!
