What is this thing?

This is located between my shallow end jet and my deep end jet. I've never used it for anything. I am looking to replace it and can't figure out the name of it. What would I look up to find a replacement part?

Is there no flow or suction there? Do you have a separate booster pump that was possibly used for a cleaner?

Is it a plug (ie the center of it is solid), or is there water coming out?

The line is likely an equalizer line for a skimmer, a return, a pressure line for cleaner or a suction side cleaner port.
