What is this on my filters?

These are only 2 months old. Is this normal to get white buildup on the blue filter endcaps? It will scratch off. Here are some pics.

It's chlorine oxidation and hydrolysis of the rubber. Don't bother cleaning it off, just leave it there. It's not harmful.

+1- it's normal- mine were installed in may and already like yours

and it should go away when its submerged back under water

Thanks guys. I just got a second set of regular pleated filters so I can alternate them out while one set is being cleaned. I'll put these back in next month.
