Hi - For a few weeks, we have had this on the top of the water. My son thought it was pollen. It is clear-opaque like little snow flakes. What is it? How do I get rid of it? It's hard to see in the picture.

Thanks,
LaDonna

Not quite sure what that is. Perhaps residual calcium being released from your SWG? Can you capture any of it? Do you see that stuff anywhere else around the pool? Are you using a skimmer sock in your skimmer?

A full set of water test results might help.

Here’s what it looks like wet (caught in my hair net/skimmer sock) mixed with pollen of course

And after it’s dried its very fluffy.

to me it is like mini oatmeal flakes. with 20 to 30 mile a hour gusting winds (3 out of last 5 now) I can screen it out then the next gust puts it back in. it does look like it is small flower petals from some tree and with the winds who knows how far they float from. I scoop with screen and let the filter do it's job. it is just a lot some days. mid TN

I will take a pic of my pool in the morning before the pump comes on - looks exactly like the op’s pic

Thank you everyone! Cotton wood must be what it is. I was thinking the pollen had already finished. Yes, that's what it looks like. Wow, y'all are such a big help! Hopefully, it will pass soon.
