What is the temp threshold to start opening up the pool and balance chemicals?

As the subject states…Im looking to possibly open up the pool but would like some advice from the experts to know what is the daily average temp to begin to get the chemicals right?

Current water temp is 68 degrees

When the water temperature is consistently at or above 60F.

You are too late.

Our normal advice is "Open before the water is 60º and close after it gets down to 60º " This provides you time early on when opening to get the water and chemistry in line before the weather warms so much that algae wakes flat up and reproduces.

Likewise if you maintain the pool open until it cools down to 60º, you'll most likely close an algae free pool.
