What Is CSI?

If you have a plaster pool then CSI is important to be aware of in your water chemistry....

Piggy backing off of this thread because i had some similar questions. In general, you want to keep a + CSI, correct? I generally shoot for this, but winter is coming (eventually) and when I'm playing around with my levels, i see my CSI quickly goes negative with 40 - 60 degree water temps at my current pH, TA, and CH levels... How much of a negative CSI is ok?

CSI between -0.3 and 0.3 is fine. Short duration below or above that range will not do any damage to the pool surface.
SWCG pools should attempt to keep CSI between -0.3 and 0. This inhibits the formation of scale in the SWCG cell.
