What did you do to your pool today?

Look at that. Peoria IL, and out water temps are about the same right now...unreal...

Hope the kids have a fun last day! :goodjob:

Did you have a lot of rain that cooled you off?

We had a few inches the last few days, but with my autocover it all gets pumped off into the barrel. Helps keep the temps up!!

Stay safe down there in Texas. Been a volatile spring thus far.

After mowing the lawn I jumped in with my gardening clothes and all...it felt good. It was in the 80's here today. The water was 77...I enjoyed it. Took my temp ladder I use for opening and closings and put my steps in..productive day. :D

I added my 2nd batch of borates...crazy how it spikes the PH. I knew it would, but wow! Hoping to buffer the crazy PH rise and alkalinity (can you say Scale!) nightmare in my plaster pool. Last borates will be added tomorrow, then I will test levels of borates.

I didnt have to do anything to my pool today. For once, the sun was out all day, so pretty much I just hung out by it a bit this afternoon and tonight.
If this line holds together and continues heading east, that could change. It's currently passing through Ft. Worth. Big temperature difference too...68°F in Ft. Worth and 82° in Dallas right now.

Pool is perfect. Heated pool to 86deg for my Son's kindergarten graduation party yesterday with some of his class mates. Auto pool cover kept it at 85 today. Going to get cold this weekend so probably will just use the hot tub :p. Oh, also bought 4 cases of 12.5% shock for 10 bucks a case from the Great Escape and two gallons of muriatic acid today.

Went for a swim; first time this season. Pool is 79F and enjoyable. Swapped out OEM PSI gauge for model sold here. Love the clearer and larger type on the new gauge. Tested for the second time this week. Adding chlorine after sundown. Debating about putting solar cover on given forecast of cooler weather after tomorrow.

dumped in a gallon of bleach this morning.

rebuilt one of two "circulators" (i like them for evenly distributing heated water but they stop working often)

swimming in 74 degree water after work! (hopefully heated to 78 saturday)

Trimming / installing a new solar cover sunday (cloudy cool down forecasted mon-thur next week)

need to keep that heat.

All this crazy weather and the people in the upper MW and Eastern half have the good weather. So funny.

Big surprise...I fired up my heater for the first time today. We are swimming this weekend. :deal:

Tossed in 40oz bleach and no acid. Unusual, but Ive beaten the TA down to a low level and pH rise is finally calmed down a little.

Here's something for those of us in DFW and much of Texas to Whoot about... A forecast calling for sunshine all of next week! :whoot::whoot::whoot::whoot::whoot: May help my pool water temp get up to what is typical for late-April! I'm fine with an occasional rainy day here and there, but 24 out of 30 this month is a bit much. Even the lakes cannot take any more as many are above flood pool levels.

Will definitely be checking the CYA level - I'm sure I will have to add some with the 16"+ we've had this month - and that doesn't include this morning's deluge. On the plus side, all this rain should have dropped my CH levels, which were on the high side of normal, to a point where I have more breathing room.

Yesterday my daughter spent some time cleaning the pool. I made sure the water was balanced and she had an end of school party. Last year the water was cloudy for this. This year...crystal clear.
