Hmm... your level of posts would indicate you are a pro at this yet you still allow the pool store to do "stuff" for you. Embrace TFP! If that is the normal condition you open your pool to you are not embracing what you are being taught on this site. ;)

I let them open and close for physical and time saving reasons. I would close later and open earlier to avoid the swamp but I have huge oak trees in the yard.

Nothing about TFP requires you to do it all yourself, there is not Pro, just experienced =)

Leaf Net Cover (for later closing) and Pool Devil (for earlier opening)! (albeit, we have a tiny pool) but we swear by them!
